CAS Sport Report - Term 1, Round 5

Our Junior CAS teams showed great spirit and resilience this week, securing four victories and a draw out of nine matches. We faced some tough opponents from Prendiville, who excelled in basketball.

Indoor Cricket / Indoor Beach Volleyball: Our Indoor Cricket team may be our strongest performers. Mr Browner has got them playing some outstanding cricket as they cruised to a 5 – 0 record. Our Indoor Beach Volleyballers, after starting the season strongly, have gone down again but only narrowly in some great games.

Boys Basketball: Classic games from both our Year 8s and 9s, and we saw the first draw of the season with our 9s giving up a lead to draw the game in a stressful game. Our 7s were robbed with a 3-point bomb, beating them on the buzzer! Our 8s, to their credit, never gave up in a tough game against some bigger and more experienced Prendeville Year 8s.

Girls Basketball – Our Year 9 girls bounced back with a great win, but unfortunately, our world-beating Year 7s came up against an aggressive and talented Prendeville team that they could not match. Our Year 8s remain our only undefeated basketball team, as they had a great win.

Girls Touch Rugby – Another week, another win. It took a while to get going, but after an unusually slow start, the girls had another convincing win!

Year 7-8 Cricket – The boys are out with great numbers and another close game. Mr McPherson and Mr Davies are impressed with the leadership and standard of play!
