We were blessed with great sunny winter weather, excellent student participation, and top-quality athletic performances by athletes with big smiles and a tremendous eagerness to perform well. All students proudly represented their House with pride and passion, with many opportunities to run, jump, skip and throw against their classmates and age group opponents, and earn points in the championship and non鈥揷hampionship events. Congratulations to Watkins, who claimed the top prize as Champion House of the event. Congratulations also to all our age champions who competed and showcased their talents in multiple events to earn the top individual award in their respective age groups.

Champion House was Watkins with 1342 points, followed by Carnley (1284 points), Moyes in third (1249 points) and Challen fourth (1093 points).

I hate waking up early, but for this, it was worth it.

The beautiful Crown Ballroom was filled with over a thousand people eagerly waiting to hear what the Governor of Western Australia, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson APM and the guest speaker, Graham Maybury had to say. The breakfast is regularly attended by the Premier, the Governor, Chief Justice, Senior State Members of Parliament, the Police Commissioner or his nominee, high school students and prominent business and community leaders. We were thrilled to see Ian Goodenough MP, our Federal Member for Moore, as we walked into the ballroom. He sought us out afterwards to say hi and have some photos taken.

The Governor of Western Australia joined the Western Australia Police Force in February 1976, providing 46 years of service in Australian law enforcement. Chris was appointed Commissioner of the Western Australia Police Force in August 2017 and then Governor of Western Australia on 15 July 2022.

In the mid-1970鈥檚 Graham Maybury, our guest speaker, began a pioneering work with homeless young people, developing pathways of support to help them rebuild their lives. In 1981 and for the next 33 years, he was a light in the darkness for countless thousands of Perth radio listeners as host of Radio 6PR鈥檚 popular Nightline program. Lifeline WA grew from his work on Nightline with its wide range of community services, with Graham as its inaugural Chairman.

Of course, the breakfast was great, made up of eggs, toast and sausage, but the prayers and speeches were even more interesting, with some of them, like Graham Maybury鈥檚, being filled with humour for the room while spreading powerful messages. Listening to people speak and tell their stories enabled us to connect with the world around us and better understand the experiences of others.

I鈥檓 glad I got to go; 10/10 would do it again.

Construction Training Fund are hosting two events for those interested in a career in the construction industry:

School Holiday Try-A-Trade

• There seven different events in the Sept/Oct 2022 School Holidays.
• Applications close on the 12 Sept 2022 COB.

The Try-A-Trade program gives students the opportunity to get hands on and try some actual tasks you would undertake in construction trades. Each Try-A-Trade course runs for three days and focuses on two to three trades. The CTF funds Registered Training Organisations to deliver the courses, so there is no cost to schools or participants to get involved.

This festival of excitement begins in the PAC for the Drama Competition at 5pm and then progresses to the Hall at 7pm for the Dance Spectacular. The year is 1962 and the world is worrying about the Cuban missile crisis, except for Lewis, a youth on the cusp of manhood, growing up in a Melbourne housing commission suburb. He is preoccupied with flying saucers, much to the disgust of his friend Brian who can think only of losing his virginity. The play centres on relationships, especially the relationship between 14 year old Lewis and 14 year old Dulcie. It is through Dulcie that Lewis begins to understand that the struggle to be adult is the struggle to understand the world around him.

There are many areas in which parents could commit their energy and skills, such as supporting The Arts Team and our Arts students with the assistance they require throughout the year. These can include catering for performances, eisteddfod and rehearsals; Front of House duties; set painting/dressing; general tidying of arts areas; assisting the visual arts staff with cleaning the art rooms; transport of equipment for concerts; helping set up and cater for the Visual Arts Exhibitions; costume department support, Music cataloguing, backstage production support; musical instrument performance in productions and piano accompaniment to name a few!

We want creative, positive, energetic people who enjoy the company of like-minded people and have a particular interest in, or healthy curiosity about, the full range of arts experiences offered at 成人短片鈥檚. The camp will try to find answers to some very BIG questions: What is it to have a mind? Who are the thinking things? Are fungi networks kinds of neural networks? Is your phone an extension of your mind?
  
• Game on! explores the intricacies of games and gaming through game-building activities that culminate in the creation of their very own Australian game, which will be launched on the last afternoon for family, fellow campers and even some professional gamers! Board games, cards, and mysteries will get your child鈥檚 brain buzzing, boost their language skills, sharpen their focus and attention span, teach them the value of teamwork, and show them how to be a good loser! By exploring different games and the roles of thought and emotion in those games, campers will ask questions about optimal strategy and convincing bluffing. They will also take up general questions like 鈥淲hat makes a game worth playing?鈥�, 鈥淲hat鈥檚 wrong with cheating?鈥� and 鈥淲hat makes some things fun but other things boring?鈥�.
  
• Oceans 22! immerses participants in the world of the ocean environment and all the curious topics that arise from it. Themed around the lives lived below water, the activities and adventures are dripping in mysterious ways of the water. Throughout this exploration, campers will be challenged to consider the wonders and complexities of the sea. Campers will be immersed in a program that challenges them to think about the ocean from an environmental, conservation and biological perspective in terms that extend well beyond the mechanics of marine biology while having fun. If your child has even a passing interest in a possible future career in oceans or the environment, then they need to be at this camp. In addition to these activities, campers will explore important questions such as:

  • Do dolphins and whales have languages?

The Royal Aero Club of WA is running a Young Eagles Holiday Program during the upcoming 成人短片/October school holidays from 27th to 30th 成人短片 2022.
