On Friday, our Junior School students participated in their annual Interhouse Swimming and Novelty Events Carnival at Challenge Stadium.
The carnival started with those students wanting to make the Interschool team competing earlier in the day, and then the remainder of the Junior School students arrived to compete in swimming and novelty events across the pool.
The final places from the Carnival are as follows:
Some outstandingly close racing was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience as the competitors strived to earn points for their House. It was inspiring to witness the high level of support for those students who achieved, persisting with great determination in strokes they found quite challenging. I hope you all continue to practice your strokes for next year!
Parochialism for one's House never outshone the respect earned by and shown towards, other competitors. This substantial display of team spirit, coupled with generous dollops of encouragement, drew comparisons with the ideals of the Olympic Games. This 'good sport' attitude typifies the human values of acceptance, endeavour, fairness, and respect that we hold so dear within the 成人短片鈥檚 community.
I would also like to congratulate the Senior students who assisted on the day, for their effort with water safety and also their encouragement towards all competing students.
Congratulations to the following swimmers on their individual achievements on the day:

Did you know that our weekly wash-up of our CAS Teams is available on our website?
Head here for the lowdown from Round 3.
The Year 9s attended the Boola Bardip WA Museum recently, where they spent their time drawing and gathering photo documentation of their observations to be used back in the classroom.
They drew detailed observational animal sketches, textures, and patterns and used various techniques and materials. The drawings and photos gathered during the excursion will form part of the project work for the Year 9 2D print-making and painting for the semester.
One of the highlights for the students was sitting beneath the 120-year-old blue whale skeleton, Otto. The Year 9s enjoyed looking up at the impressive 24-metre skeleton and capturing the shape and form of the bones with charcoal on paper.
Last week, we welcomed Paul Dillon from the Drug and Alcohol Research Training Australia (DARTA) to chat with our students about a number of drugs in the community (in particular vaping), looking after your mates as well as risk-taking behaviours and how to minimise those risks.
Vaping (the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes or 'vapes') is an issue that is on the rise among Australian teenagers and continues to attract a great deal of attention as well as debate across the country. The session examined what DARTA currently know about the usage of e-cigarettes and vaping amongst Australian school-based young people and how to make sense of the information out there.
The information seminar by Paul Dillon is highly regarded by 成人短片's and forms part of our wellbeing program to promote health, build resilience, and build positive relationships.

Last Thursday was Australia鈥檚 National Be 'Kind Day'.
Our Year 12s kicked off 'Be Kind Day' by writing special messages for the littlest members of our School. Bridget and Sam, our Wellbeing Prefects, headed to the ELC to distribute these special messages and chat with our youngest students about what being kind is.
They continued to spread kindness throughout the day by joining the Junior School at lunchtime to hear their thoughts on kindness.
We are asking our 成人短片's community to make every day 'Be Kind Day' and BE THE CHANGE. Being Kind is about generational change. Our children will follow if we show them that kindness comes first. Make your first thought, feeling, or reaction to any situation a KIND one.
Let鈥檚 start today by being kind ... think kind, act kind ... be kind.
